Lately it seems
like everyone wants to go natural, not that I don't think its great that African
American women want to celebrate their kinks, curls, and coils. I'm just afraid
that
some people are doing it for all the wrong reasons. How can
deciding to go natural be wrong? Well like many of you out there I decided to go natural because I wanted to embrace my natural hair, stop breakage and of course to grow longer, thicker hair. The reason I decided to blog about this issue is because the other day I overheard someone say " It seems like everybody is going natural so I think I might go too." Going natural is huge decision and should not be taken lightly it takes alot of work, so before you curlies grab the scissors and start chopping away: here's few things you should know before hand.
5 things to know BEFORE going
natural.
- All hair is different, don't expect your hair to look a certain way.
-
Water, oil, and butter are your best friend, natural hair tends to be dry.
-
be patient, don't expect you hair to be down your back after 2 months
-
Being natural takes alot of work when you first BC
-
Some people will be discouraging, but always remember theirs a huge natural community rooting you on.
